The struggle with mother nature still persists against our favor on these very delicate coastal rivers. Very little rain gave the rivers just enough to float for a few days but not enough to hold a steady level of water for driftboats to float. Many guides got some fishing in the days directly after the holiday and battled the weekend warriors through today.

NK Fishing Guides was able to get on the water with many other boats one of the days and used it as a scouting trip for the upcoming weeks. We were able to get into fish but with the extremely soft bites, jacks were the ones brought into the boat. Big fish rolled and teased us throughout the day; bright chromers awaiting stronger water flow to burst back home. A fun filled day floating the river despite the salmon fishing frustration.

The upcoming weather is forecasting rain throughout the entire week. We are hoping it will be enough for higher water levels and schools of bright salmon.
