Here we are nearing the end of July with summer in full swing. The weather in Oregon is hot and the water is so inviting this time of the year. Rafting on the rogue river, hiking the local trails, booking a guided fishing trip, checking out the local breweries or wineries… the possibilities are endless here in southern Oregon. Mid summer the kids are looking for a fun camping trip or a day on the lake to swim, fish and roast s’mores. Mid summer and it’s time to get out of the routine and do something fun as a family!

The first question to ask yourselves is how much time do you have to get away or vacation out away from home. Just one day.. no problem there is so much to do in a day trip around southern Oregon. A drive to one of the many lakes around; Lost Creek lake, Lake of the woods, Fish Lake, Applegate lake, all offer great banks to enjoy the sun and water. Fishing them is even better! Trout, bass, kokanee are all in the lakes which make for great fun for the kids and even a good dinner around the fire pit. Looking for a longer multiple day vacation.. travel to the coast. Book an ocean fishing trip with a charter out of Brookings or Gold Beach and catch a ton of rockfish to take home. Such a delicious meal to come home with! Take a walk on the Oregon beaches and through the HUGE redwoods then work your way through to southern Oregon where the Rogue runs wild! Take a rafting trip or book a chinook salmon fishing trip and be blown away by the beauty of our local river.
